Seven Embury is a multidisciplinary visual artist based in Victoria, BC. Seven holds a Diploma of Visual Arts from Camosun College and is finishing up his BFA at the University of Victoria. A painter and digital media artist, Seven aims to capture the visceral sensations of anxiety and fears that are produced by our modern world. Within his paintings, Seven utilizes a mixture of non-traditional mediums and methods. The additions of clay and wire are combined with cutting of and layering of his canvases. Seven pushes the boundaries of sculpture and paintings. With his digital work Seven builds seemingly familiar scenes that reflect current issues. His works have been featured in numerous shows including the Tofino Gallery of Contemporary Art, the Audain Gallery, and the Tofino art council’s My First Pandemic Project.
