Raine McCue works in video, installation and acrylic painting. His work typically surrounds themes of memory, childhood nostalgia and retrospective emotions, this is paired with unusually dark aesthetics and narratives that haunts the air of a room. Raine grew up in Nanaimo, British Columbia, and is currently working towards becoming an architect due to his love for spaces and environments. His video work has been viewed in over a hundred countries worldwide throughout various film festivals, however, he doesn’t let it go to his head (lie). Raine also composes a wide variety of music including the scores for some of his videos. He takes pride in his multidisciplinary approach to creating art and believes that the culmination of these efforts can help to create an installation that leaves a lasting impression on viewers. Specifically, one that is uneasy, yet, a joy to behold.
