Hope Jacyk | she/her | Airdrie, AB

Hope Jacyk (she/her) is a visual artist from Airdrie, Alberta. She has always harbored an interest in art and has been creating work from an early age. Her practice spans a variety of drawing and painting mediums but she has been primarily working with acrylic paint for the past four years. Inspired by Impressionism and Surrealism, her work explores themes of memory, landscape and dreams. She is interested in examining the spaces between reality and fiction using nature and horror imagery as inspiration. Her work has been exhibited in galleries in both Calgary and Victoria and in 2022 she curated an exhibition of emerging artists for the Vernon Public Art Gallery. She is now graduating from the University of Victoria with a BFA in visual arts.
